‘What’s next after the World Race?
I have been asked that question so many times, the majority of which were asked before I had even left Ohio. I can finally tell you the answer to your question “What are you going to do after the World Race?” In September I am moving to Gainesville, Georgia. I will be attending an eight month leadership and discipleship program, Center for Global Action.
What made you choose Center for Global Action?
Back in January while in Nepal, the Lord began to gently stir different ideas of “what’s next?” The Lord invited me to go on a three year journey pursuing Him, His heart, and learning His teachings. The following months I saw “three years” everywhere. It would come up in unprompted conversation, our host would say something about it, I would see it in books, even reading the bible. Sometimes the Lord has to have neon signs, everywhere for me to see what He wants me to see.
Going on a three year journey with the Lord what does that look like? Year one was going out to the nation’s, finding out what breaks my heart, what makes me lose track of time, as cliche as it is, the world race made me not want to settle. So, I have decided that my year two will be at Center for Global Action (CGA).
So, what exactly is CGA?
CGA is a program that helps equip and mobilize a generation passionate about following Jesus who will live out their faith no matter where the Lord calls them. Whether that’s at home, overseas, or in the professional business world.
I will still live in a similar community style that I have had on the World Race.
There are six different tracks that you can choose to be apart of while you are at CGA. Field Leadership, Story, Worship, Liberation, Business as Missions, and Video. The track that I will be learning and growing in is the Worship track. The Worship track is learning to create and lead worship experiences through the use of music and other forms of art. Discovering and using my own unique worship giftings to serve the Lord, and His people.
One of the most exciting expectations for me at CGA, is to get a part time job. They want each of us to go out into the community and put into practice what we are learning. I will be transferring my cosmetology license to Georgia, and will get a job in a salon to pursue my passions in the industry. I am ecstatic that I will be able to begin work in a salon. The last year, I have been able to cut hair in a total of 12 countries. I am praying that this program will help better equip me to go out into the world to combine women stuck in trafficking, and teach them new skills to be able to provide for themselves. I believe that CGA will help me with my next steps of combining my passion for cosmetology and serving the abandoned and forgotten.
Why should you support me?
Many of you have already invested in me by supporting my journey on The World Race. Supporting me in my next step of attending CGA is furthering your investment. You are investing in me so I can be more prepared to go out and serve the forgotten, abandoned, outcasts, and the people easily looked past. I will go out and serve and love the nations, including the United States.
In all honesty, the thought of having to go back and ask for more financial support is something I was not thrilled to do. I have gotten so many lies telling me that asking for people’s support again will be hard, I have heard “people will not support you financially again.” or “How will you fundraise money?” Being away for so long, this is a scary number for me, I have just over $8,150 left to fundraise.
Our host and friend in Guatemala was talking to us about how the Lord always provides, in the ways that we need. In one of his many stories, he said “if it is God’s will, it’s God’s bill.” I know that the Lord is calling me down to Georgia, I know that He will provide exactly what I need. He will provide emotionally, physically, spiritually, mentally, and financially. No form of support is more important than another, I need them all equally.
Would you consider partnering with me in prayer as I move into the next season of life?
Thank you for your support.
